EOI – Aboriginal Business Development Specialist

This influential key role working strategically with the CEO and its leadership team, is all about building capability, increasing revenue, and creating On-Country opportunities for ABC Foundation strategic partners.

Key responsibilities
As the Aboriginal Business Development Specialist, you will be a key part of our capability building organisational function, who thinks strategically and shares our vision and passion. With commercial acumen and
an innate ability to transform opportunities, this newly created role will work with the CEO to take identified strategies and lead the development and implementation of land-based and business development activities.

About you
To truly excel in this role, your primary purpose is to develop, convert and deliver strategic projects across our partnership portfolio, with a socio-economic development lens on. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a
broad range of knowledge and experience however passion, energy, and the willingness to learn and evolve will be key.

  • Must have a collaborative, respectful and engaging personality who is able to work under pressure with a smile!
  • Experience working within a Not-For-Profit environment and/or Aboriginal groups and communities
  • A broad understanding of the project and business development life cycles, governance and financial structures and risk management principles
  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in commerce, commercial or social impact sectors
  • Experienced in developing and negotiate ideas, audit operational businesses, have an eye for detail and offer capacity building and continuous improvement outcomes (essential)
  • Working at a senior level in areas of business development, commercial negotiation, and/or regional economic development, or a related field (essential)
  • Positive outlook, doer attitude and strategic converter to recognise and implement opportunities
  • Able to cultivate and conceptualise concepts which are realistic, viable and can be proven approach
  • Hold and maintain strong professional relationships, with proficient communication skills

If you can draw on your past successes, have extensive experience working across multi-sector projects or industries, with the ability to juggle numerous agendas and achieve positive project outcomes, you may be the person we are looking for.
