This influential key role working directly with the CEO and the leadership team, responsible for overseeing company compliance, board and sub-committee governance, providing human resource and operational system support to the business, managing external client relationships, while assisting the CEO with sourcing and managing future grant and income opportunities.

Key responsibilities
As the Executive Officer you will hold a key position in the leadership team. This is a hands-on role, which is critical to the effective functioning of the organisation and has a day-to-day oversight of all aspects of company compliance and governance. The Executive Officer ensures a robust integrated management framework and systems are in place and operating effectively throughout the organisation to enable achievement of annual and medium-term goals and reporting targets to support the organisation to achieve its operational work programs and budgets under the direction of the CEO.

About you
To truly excel in this role, your primary purpose is to support the CEO and ensure the company compliance and executive governance systems are managed appropriately and in a timely manner, to achieve this we seek applicants to have the following:

  • Proven 3+ years expertise working at an Executive Officer or Company Compliance (or similar) for medium sized not for profits and/or community service-based businesses (essential).
  • Ideally hold qualifications in human resources, legal, project management or business administration or a related field (desirable)
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in managing company not-for-profit compliance and grant reporting requirements, managing external client expectation; i..e. ACNC, DGR, government compliance reporting, business compliance I.e. insurance and registrations.
  • Experience and/or ability to provide policy and procedural system-based support to the business units, including human resource management, OH&S and IT support.
  • Ability to work with the company Board of Directors, providing secretary support, including managing meeting requirements, minute taking and coordinating sub-committee requirements across both its head organisation and partner entities (as required).

If you can draw on your past successes, have experience working for not-for-profit and/or community based organisations, including social enterprise based businesses, with the ability to juggle and meet competing deadlines while maintaining a customer focused based positive attitude, you may be the person we are looking for.

This role is an extremely rewarding opportunity to help shape positive outcomes for Aboriginal communities. Ideally Perth-based, we will consider other locations for the right applicant, as you will be working from home, minimum 4 days per week position.
