ABC Foundation Presented as a Semi Finalist at State Awards

The ABC Foundation Ltd was presented as a Semi Finalist in the prestigious Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Economic Development Award, by the Hon Darren West MLC, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food; Hydrogen Industry representing Hon. Alannah MacTiernan MLC, Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food; Hydrogen Industry at the 2021 Western Australian Community Achievement Awards Gala Presentation Dinner held at Hyatt Regency Perth on Friday 15th October.

The Awards were hosted by Noel Brunning, Presenter, GWN7 News and more than 300 guests gathered from across the State to celebrate regional Western Australia’s high achievers.

“ABC Foundation Limited (ABCFL) of Carnarvon, has operated since May 2016 and delivers services and programmes revolving around the Mungullah Aboriginal Community designed to benefit children through to Elders via support, upskilling, food relief and education.”

The eight category winners are:
Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation of Djarindjin – Rinehart Development of Northern Regional WA Award
Aboriginal Driver Training Program of Life Without Barriers of WA – Insurance Commission of Western Australia Regional Safety Award
Shire of Bruce Rock of Bruce Rock – Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries Making a Difference Award
Sue Sheridan of Tambellup – Curtin University, School of Education Teaching Excellence Award
Yurra of Gap Ridge – Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Economic Development Award
Happy Days Coffee Pot of Northam – Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award
Vasse Valley Hemp Farm of Vasse – Prime Super Business Innovation Achievement Award
Country Women’s Association – Ord Valley Branch of Kununurra – Woolworths Community Group of the Year Award

Winners each received $500 cash, a $500 Woolworths Gift Card, $500 in Qoin, the new Crypto trade digital currency and a $500 Bartercard Tourism Gift Certificate.

Wheatbelt & Beyond Youth Mentoring Inc of Bruce Rock was announced as the 2021 People’s Choice Award Winner and received a voucher for an overnight stay in Hyatt King Room with breakfast for two at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Perth!

The Awards night was the culmination of a tremendously successful year with hundreds of nominations received from across regional Western Australia.

Since the creation of the Western Australian Community Achievement Awards in 2002, it has aimed to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout regional and rural Western Australia. The awards recognise and pay tribute to their achievements, which contribute to making regional Western Australia a better community.
